The Core Technology Behind AIUS Marine

AIUS ingests the streams your cameras already produce, runs detection, tracking, classification and collision-risk scoring on board, handing the result to the displays you already use. All inference runs on board, with no internet connection needed to operate.

What the Other Sensors Miss

Radar and AIS are excellent at what they do. Neither was built to see a fender, a kayak or a person in the water, which is exactly the gap AIUS Marine closes.

AIS only sees what transmits

Small boats, jet skis, persons in the water and debris never appear on it, and a vessel with its transponder off is simply absent from the picture.

Radar has physical limits

It is blind to small non-metallic objects like buoys and fenders, and not suitable for detecting persons in the water.

Cameras need someone watching

They are complementary, but continuous visual watchkeeping leads to cognitive overload and fatigue. A crew cannot hold that attention for a whole passage.

Detection and Classification

Vessels and objects on visible and thermal camera streams are detected and classified by our proprietary AI models trained on diverse maritime imagery.

Multi-Object Tracking

Real-time tracking across complex scenes with trajectory analysis extracts visual cues about the detected objects over time.

Electronic Image Stabilisation

Visual-only stabilisation removes camera motion and noise in real time to provide smooth, legible camera streams to the AI as well as the users.

Collision Risk Scoring

Targets are assigned an alert level based on their classification and other visual cues in order to raise attention at the helm to objects that matter.

Recording and Replay

Synchronised video and sensor streams, recorded manually or automatically on an event, for claims, investigation and crew training.
